The legal market has internalized this framing so completely that speed has become the default metric for evaluating AI. At LegalWeek 2026, session after session returned to the same question: how much time does the tool save?
That question makes sense in transactional work, where the product is a document and time-to-completion maps directly to cost. But litigation is not transactional work. And the firms that understand that distinction are already pulling ahead.
